Hi Mr. Ravishankar,
Actually, as you have told that she is an Epileptic and is on Anti-Epileptic medication for almost last 20 years, Sometimes, it has been seen that anti-epileptic drugs do suppress neuronal firing in the brain which are responsible for seizures and cause mental slowness as well. Memory lapses. poor concentration are among the after effects of these medications.

It wouldn't hurt to have her checked for Celiac Disease. The test is a simple blood test. Celiac disease affects 1 in 130 people in the States and Europe, and it can cause issues like poor memory and depression, and can also involve neurological problems, including seizures.

The solution to avoiding damage if she has the disease is simply is to eat gluten free.
