Lumps In Underarm, Abdomen, Spleen. CBC Reports Show Reduced Platelets And RBC Count. Related To Cancer?
Hi, I am 43 years old female .I have recently noticed lumps in my left underarm .I visited doctor who has found some lump in left upper abdomen area near spleen .She has advised me a CT scan of neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis area. I don t have any fatigue/fever symptoms. My CBC reports show reduced platelets & HB /RBC Count . I want to know whether these are related to cancer ?
Sorry to hear about your problem. Seeing your complaints and reports, the doctor wants to rule out a lymphoma, which can be associated with enlargement of lymph nodes (glands) all over the body along with lesions in the spleen. A CT would reveal if lymph nodes in the other parts of the body are also enlarged or not.
The next step might be to biopsy one of the lymph nodes to rule out cancer.
Hi
Reduced platelets & HB/RBC does not confirm cancer.
What is the report of your CT scans?
For lump in your left underarm ,you get an Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) test.It is simple and it confirms whether the swelling is cancerous or not.
If you come back with your CT scan report,i will clarify further.
Wish you good health
Regards
