Lump Under The Skin, Swollen Area Around The Scar Post Stitches That Is Itchy At Times. What Is It?

About two months ago, I sliced my wrist area on a broken window. I needed stitches in my tendon and on the surface level. Now, there is a lump under the skin, the area around the scar is swollen and itchy with periodic times of pain. I ve been reading about sutures that don t dissolve or are rejected by the body and about infections, but I still haven t found much that s helpful. What do you think it could be?

hi..
you had a cut and it was sutured..
now there is a swelling in the scar area, associated with itching and pain..
probably you have hypertrophied scar.. may go for keliod..
see your surgeon for the management, local steriod is helpful, if it does not respond surgical intervention may be needed..

The most common cause for such problems is infections. Sometimes it occurs if the sutures are infected or the wound is not cleaned properly. It may also happen if there is bleeding and clots get accumulated. A doctor may have to examine and decide what to do. You should consult a dcotr who can decide and appropriately treat the problem.
