Lump Under Skin Between Eyes And Nose, Swelling, Chronic Rhinosinusitis. Applied Glycolic Acid. What Is It?
Hello, I have a lump under my skin in between my eye and nose. It is actually on a corner of my right eye. It is not visible from outside but I can feel it when I touch. I felt it first time about 1 month ago and I felt a pain when I touched it, mostly pain was on my skin. I massaged it and pushed it in with my fingers. Next morning I had swelling under my eye that lasted 3-4 days. Than it got smaller but the lump did not go away completely. Only the pain went away. Two days ago it got bigger again (no pain) next morning after I applied glycolic acid peel on my face. I do not know if there is any connection but first time when I noticed I also applied glycolic acid peel. Another thing maybe relevant was that I was congested on that side for a while before the lump showed up the first time. Right now I am not congested. Also I suffer from the chronicall Rinosanositys and I am on Zyrtec for the past 15 years. Thank you very much
** 1. As you have h/o rhinosinusitis, thus probable cause of swelling could be infection of naso-lacrimal duct, if it gets blocked due to infection/inflammation, it causes lump and swelling between nose and eye, consult an ENT specialist for Examination and necessary management with broad spectrum antibiotics, anti histamines, saline nasal washing with lukewarm water.
2. It could be soft tissue infection, due to surrounding structures, you need to see your general Practitioner and he will decide to send you where ,to a dentist,ENT or Ophthalmologist.
PS: If you are still concerned with it or if things continue to get worse, check with a dermatologist.
