I have large lump and bruise on the side of my upper thigh, after slipping on stairs. Of course it s sore, but there isn t any pain in my bone area. Do I need to see the doctor? Just for background I ve had Juvenile diabetes for 40 years and stage 4 kidney disease, both of which are now well controlled and monitored.

Hello.
Thanks for posting your query.

It seems to be soft tissue injury . But if the tenderness persist and you have difficulty in putting weight, there might be chance of bony injury.

I suggest you to consult a doctor for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.

In the interim, apply ice packs to the affected area,anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.

Wishing you good health
Regards.
