Low Grade Fever, Diagnosed With Typhoid, Have Rh Arthritis, Diabetic. What Are The Reason ?
My mom has low grade fewer ranging from 98.6 to 101 degree celicus shae was diagnosed with thyphoid but her fewer is still persisting several test have been done like blood culture unite x ray ultrasound full anbdomein etc and some further test like Fnac etc are advised too.she has rh athritis ,diabetes ,and goiter pls advise what could be the reason for fever not coming to normal even tough she has taken full course on monocef injections too for thyphoid .i am really worried for her health please advise.
Typhoid fever presents with a step ladder type of fever pattern where the body temperature never touches basal body temperature. Presence of fever indicates that the chemotherapy is not sufficient. Consult your doctor. He may advise you for repeat 1. widal test 2. Blood culture and sensitivity. She may have to on an higher antibiotic for a longer duration(14 to 21 days) if she is resistant to the current antibiotic.
