Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Loss of appetite, medically referred to as anorexia, can be caused by a variety of conditions and diseases. Some of the conditions can be temporary and reversible, such as loss of appetite from the effects of medications.

These reasons can be linked to not only physical health but also mental/emotional frame of mind. Apart from serious health conditions and eating disorders, some of the reasons for loss of appetite may be stress, depression and anxiety.

Loss of appetite is also helped along by bad or improper eating habits displayed by the person. Some causes of appetite loss in a person include eating sweets and drinking soft drinks between meals, the consumption of large and heavy meals which are rich in saturated fats at odd times.

I advice you if you have any stress or any other condition mentioned above or had you made any changes in the diet which might be responsible for loss of appetite should be considered and avoided.

If you have gastritis that might may also responsible, in that case antacids and ppi this are the over the counter medication can be helpful.

Apart from this certain foods like Lime is also a valuable remedy for restoring a lost appetite. A preparation made from this fruit and ginger has been found very effective in overcoming this condition. Sour grapes are another effective remedy for anorexia.

I advice you to follow the conservative approach for a week, if it fails i advice you to see physician for through examination and to identify the cause responsible for weight loss.

Hope I have provided the information you needed.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
A sudden loss of appetite with no other apparent signs and symptoms could be due to a hormonal disturbance or a generalized illness which needs a comprehensive examination and a detailed investigation to find out the cause.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
