hello and thanks for using HCM,
I understand your problem and it is not uncommon. These pills can produce an
incomplete abortion especially if taken after 9 weeks. Many times it happens that women confuse
implantation bleeding with periods and thus wrongly date the last menstrual period. The actual gestation is more than calculated, so pills may fail.
If yours was indeed 5 weeks, then bleeding is not much as the baby is too small and very few products are formed.
A follow up visit to your gynec is always scheduled after
mifegest kit to ensure complete abortion at around 7 days after the procedure. However if you are in doubt, I suggest that you go earlier and get an
ultrasound [transvaginal] to see if any bits are left behind. These may need surgical removal by a simple procedure called check curettage. If not removed they may get infected so it is better to confirm it by ultrasound.
Hope that this helped. Thanks for the query. I am always here to answer any further questions.
