Light Brown Marks On The Outer And Frontal Region Of Neck, Throat Pain. Had Flu The Past Week. What Could It Be?

hi, i just recently caught a small and less harsh flu this past week. Symptoms include chest congestion, coughing, sore throat , headaches , and phlegm . however my question has something to do with light brown marks on the outer and frontal region of my neck where the pain is occurring in the throat. i was just wondering what it may be?

hello and welcome to HCM,

I do understand your consern about the color change in your frontal and neck area.
In any infection of the sinuses, some amount of colour change is acceptable and seen in the area of the sinuses and the infected part.
You can take a course of antibiotic like amoxicillin- clavulanate combination 625mg twice daily after food for five days along with antihistamine like levocetrizine 5mg once daily for two weeks. Your doctor may know about this.
After two weeks or so see if the colour change have gone or receded. If they have then you have nothing to worry about or else consult an ENT/dermatologist for the same
take steam inhalation and get well soon
