Leg Sore After Falling. Unable To Bend Foot, Knee Cap Popping. Suggestions?

I slipped and fell on my butt last night in the grass, it was slick because it had been raining/snowing. I woke up the next morning and my whole entire leg was really sore. It hurts to walk. I cant bend my foot all the way and if I turn a certain way my knee cap pops and hurts really bad. I can t put my foot all the way down when I walk, I have to walk on the side of my foot basically.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

From the description, it looks like that you have injured LIGAMENTS of your joints.

The initial management for these injuries is conservative by the following means -
* Rest to the local part and avoiding movements that put strain on the joints
* Ice packing to alleviate the acute pain
* Elastic compression bandage around the involved site to reduce swelling
* Analgesic antiinflammatory medications
* Bracing - splintage of the involved joint

If you symptoms are not resolving with the above measures, an MRI scan is needed to rule out ligamentous injuries.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
