Leg Pain. Had A Surgery. Did I Tear My Calf Muscle?

Hi Doc, I have a question. Last year I was pitching in a baseball game and when I woke up the next day my left leg (THE DRIVE LEG AGAINST THE RUBBER) felt like someone stuck me in the leg with a dull knife. It also felt like the knife had electricity running through it. long story short, I had to have L5-SG1 surgery on my back..a year after the surgery my back feels great, but my left calf muscle feels like its always in a contracted state. It s not cramps because I know this feels different from cramps. I m afraid I tore the calf muscle. When I go to plant off my left leg I don t get the resistance to bounce back off the ball of my foot . Also, when I flex the muscle it locks up and it slowly releases. when this happens I notice a deformity in the calf which makes me think it is torn. Can this be fixed after a such a long time? I d appreciate any advice you have.. Will Seitz
