Leg Injury, Redness, Swelling, Difficulty Walking, Pain On Squeezing. Treatment?

My son hit his leg somehow, now it is red and swollen, painful to the touch in some areas and he can t Put pressure on it. He is only 14 mOnths old and usually very active but he wont even get up or try to walk around. Is it serious or should I let it run it s course. I don t think it s broken because I can move it around and he only cries if I squeeze it.

dear stephglo929

in view of the age please consult an orthopaedician, get an x-ray done urgently. minor fractures may present the way you have written.

the acute inflammation will subside with analgesics but if there is a fracture it will need to dealt with properly.

please do not neglect the swelling and visit a doc or ER at the earliest
