Left Submandibular Lymph Node Enlarged, Sensitive, Gums Swollen, Bleeding On Flossing, Sore Throat. Cure?

about two days ago my left submandibular lymph node enlarged and became sensitive, a day later the gums on the left side of my mouth both upper and lower became swollen and sensitive, almost a throbbing. They also bled minimally with normal flossing when otherwise they would not. Today all those symptoms are still current only elevated a bit more as well as a sore throat seems to be forming. Again it is still primarily the left side that is being effected.

it may be sinus infection or teeth infections and submandibular LYMPH NODE IS REACTIVE HYPERPLASIA AS RESULT OF INFCTION
TAKING DOXICYCLINE 100 MG BD FOR 10 -1 DAYS ARE FASTEST ACTING AGENTS TO CLEAR INFECTION OF SINUSES AND TEETH
TAKE ANTIALLERGIC TAB ANTIINFLAMATORRY TAB FOR 2 WK
ANTISEPTIC MOUTH WASH GARGLES
BUT MUST CONSULT DOCTOR AFTER GETTING XRAY PNS TO TREAT IF ANY PROBLEM TO PREVENT RECURENCES
IF SINUS IS INVOLVED CONSULT ENT SPECIALIST AND IF TEETH AND GUMS SEE DENTIST
GLAND SIZ WILL COME TO NORMAL SLOWLY AFTER TREATMENTS

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Enlarged lymph nodes can be due to teeth infection, sinusitis.
A thorough clinical evaluation by the Dentist and an ENT specailist is required.
Go for complete mouth scaling and polishing.
Use lukewarm saline and antseptic mouthwash rinses.
Sore throat can be due to bacterial and viral infection.
Start with the course of antibiotics and analgesics.

Hope this helps out.

Regards...

hi...
welcome to HCM forum...
please consult ENT specialist first for sore throat... take proper course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs prescribed by him...
also visit your dentist and go for proper scaling and root planing... maintain good oral hygiene after that... brush twice daily after meals... brushing before going to bed is very essential in your case...
hope it will help you...

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

The reason for swelling of sub mandibular galnd on left side could be due to the infection draining there.

This infection can originate from tooth decay and forming abscess or gum infection called as periodontal abscess.

In either case it requires clinical examination.

you must start antibiotics and analgesics course and then get yourself treated for the cause.

you might require an x ray too.

Hope this piece of information is helpful to you and answers your query.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Lymph node enlargement may be due to spread of infection into tissue spaces.

Get a thorough scaling done.

Pus if present, has to be drained and curetted.

Use chlorhexidine mouthrinses to gargle.

Take plenty of fluids along with nutritious diet.

Hope this helps.
