Large Swollen Bruise On Hip, What Should I Do ?

I fell on my motorcycle, and skidded on my right side. I was fine before, but now my right hip has a large swelling, which I guess is a hematoma. I don t have health insurance, because I just graduated. What should I do? It s painful.

Hi, welcome it would be nice if you could describe your wound, such as, is the skin broken?
color of the skin, can you move your limbs ? has there been bleeding.
i will hazard a guess that it is a superficial Haematoma, which is collection of Blood under skin and is visible to the naked eye as Bluish Black sometime Greenish Skin, it maybe
painful or maybe not. Hot packs for 15-20 minutes a day Painkillers i prefer Paracetamol
500mg 2-3 times a day, Haematoma usually subsides in a couple of weeks.

hello, welcome to healthcare magic forum,

hematoma appears like a blue-black-purple colored spot. It usually goes away in 5-7 days. If its a hematoma, no treatment is required. You may apply ice pack, and take a pain -killer if its painfull. If it worsen you will have to see a doctor.

takecare.

It's not very discolored. A little bit blue, but that's all. The skin is unbroken. I put an ice pack on it and the swelling went down a bit. Still painful, and hard to walk, but I can move my leg when lying down without much pain.
