Large Bump On Outer Labia With A Hard Bump, Painful Lymph Node In Groin. No Improvement With Hot Packs. Advice?

I have a large bump on my outer labia that started underneath the skin as a pea sized, hard bump. It is now irritated and red and visible and swells my labia. My lymph node in my groin on that side is large and painful. I went to the doctor who said it was a zit or an ingrown hair , and to use hot packs and green clay and it should come to a head eventually. It hasn t and it also isn t any better.

Hello, Welcome to HCM, I am Dr. Das
Firstly, the symptoms you told , indicates an inflammatory condition which occurred may be due to any infective agent like bacteria. This is supported by presence of lymph node in inguinal region. A palpable lymph node in groin is always due to reactive hyperplasia , not otherwise specified.

So, you are suffering from infection in the labial region. Most probably it is a cellulitis.

What you will do?
Do the followings.

1. Consult with a gynecologist for a thorough clinical examination.
2. You have to take cephalosporin group of antibiotcs for a quick response. Consult with the gynecologist for a specific trade-name, and dose distribution.
3. Take a pantoprazole group of drug.

Hope this information suffices.

Regards.
