Large Brown Mole, Had A Speck In Left Tear Duct At That Place. Any Ideas?
In my left tear duct I had a speck which I thought was either an open duct itself or a bit of grit that got in my eye which got absorbed and stained the skin, I had this for at least 2 years, few days ago I notice all of a sudden a large brown mole looking lump where this speck was? should I be worried? Currently waiting to see GP
Hello, Welcome to Health care magic It seems from the history that you have provided that you are having lump in the area of the skin having tear duct, this is probably dacryocystitis which is inflammation of the tear draining sac. Acute dacryocystitis is associated with painful swelling and it requires treatment by hot compress, oral antibiotics and oral antiinflammatory drugs. Acute dacryocystitis requires treatment immediately to prevent complications. Chronic dacryocystitis is not painful and treatment can be delayed. If the swelling is associated with pain, you need to start treatment immediately. Thank you
