Lack Of Appetite, Abdominal Pain. Is It Normal To Not Pass Stools Everyday?

I believe that I have Gastritis , I have a rather moderate lack of appetite , and when i eat it seems that i get full easy. Sometimes there is a sharper pain in my upper abdomen but the pain is mainly near the center of my chest underneath the breast bone. Is it normal to not poop every day if I am not consuming that much every day like i used to because of all of this?

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

Your symptoms are caused by peptic ulcer. Peptic ulcer is a lesion in the lining (mucous) of the stomach.

To improve your health condition you should follow these guidelines.
1. Eat 5 meals a day(small portions).
2. Eliminate spicy foods, fried foods and acidic foods from your diet.
3. Do not drink alcoholic drinks, carbonated drinks, coffee and milk.
4. Take proton pump inhibitor medicines such as Nexium. You should take this medicine for 6-8 weeks.

By following these guidelines you will relieve pain and you will be able to pass stool everyday.

Contact your gastroenterologist.

Take Care.
Dr. Behar.
