Knee injury, CT scan shows no fracture or ligament injury. Can swelling affect knee stability?

hi. i had an injury to my right knee because of RTA last week, the trauma cause a cut-wound in the lateral-anterior aspect of the knee , my Dr did a CT scan and no fracture and he did an EUA and he said no injury to the ligament , but now i feel that its not stable . my question is about the swelling if it can affect the stability of the knee ?

Hi, Thanks for writing into us.

Swelling will not affect the stability of knee joint. Swelling may be there for few days due to contusion. It would take some time to resolve.
CT findings reveals no fracture so that nothing to worry. Take medications as prescribed. Please restrict your joint movements and take rest.
