Knee condition in advanced stage, advised Penidure injection as temporary relief. Relevant?

My wife s knee right knee condition is in advance stage and we know that replacement is the only answer. As a temporary major a local Orthopedic Surgeon suggested Penidure Injection at an interval of 3 weeks - total 4 injections . Other medicine he suggested is pain killer and anti inflammatory tablets. I was wondering why Pedidure was suggested as it is an antibiotic and here it does not seem to have any relevance.

Dear Singhallan

You are absolutely right , penidure has no value and not indicated.

Go for short term pain killer for relieve till do plan for replacement.
