Jumped Down And Landed On Straight Legs, Pain In Left Knee, Have A Limp. Knee Bending Wrong Way. What Is The Reason?

Yesterday I jumped down about a 5-6 foot drop , and landed on straight legs. Immediately after I landed I felt pain in my left knee and laid on the ground about 5 minutes. I can walk but it hurts and I have a limp. Sorta feels like my knee is bending the wrong way when I walk. There s no swelling or anything like that though.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
this was a very significant injury from a height. it's sounds although you have seriously damaged you knee joint and need to see a Dr for a full physical assessment and X-rays. he may also choose to do an MRI to look for ligamentous damage.
