Itchy arms, history of allergy, take Doxepin. Tried many creams. Any solution ?

My arms are so itchy, mostly whenI get in bed and am ready to relax, but at other times too they bother me if I think about it . It is SO bad that that if I wake up at night, they start to itch. I have to put ice packs on both my arms... or one at a time to get to sleep at all! It is about to drive me crazy! I have had alergy tests long ago, have had my fam. doctor give me doxepin 25mg. (it makes me tired the next day - all day) and I have tried many creams. It seems to be something from inside me or my nerve endings??? PLEASE HELP I am Not happy that you haveto pay for advice. I will try somewhere else

hello..thanks for your query..
I feel that you have something knows as Chronic Urticaria. It is common condition with frequent exacerbations and remissions. In most cases,a direct cause is not identified. However a combination of correct anti histaminic tablets for a few months help in reducing the severity and frequency of these hives.Start application of a soothing anti pruritic calamine lotion to relieve the itch.In certain cases a few bood tests are advised to rule out ant internal causation of the same.especially if this has been going around for more than a month, it is wise to have a few blood and stool tests done before the onset of therapy. There are several non sedating options available to your treatment, so you can ask our doctor about the prescription of the same..Do not worry, although symptoms and treatment course of urticaria is prolonged, these do not pose any danger in most people!
Hope this helps..take care.
