Dear Srisubh, from the symptoms it seems that you are having chronic skin infection like fungal infection like ring worm,Please do not go for any form of self medication.Visit your doctor who will prescribe specific drugs meant for the purpose.Apart from this stop wearing tight clothes like jeans.Wear more of cotton clothes.Take bath twice in a day.Bye and take care.

Dermatologist Dr. Bharat Chawda's  Response
Hi!srisubh,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum,
You are suffering from fungal infection called tinea cruris and corporis. This is usually seen in occluded parts of the body(folds) where one sweats a lot.You need a course of oral anti fungal along with topical creams and anti fungal powder. This needs to be continued for at-least a month , after which you should see that it doesn't recur. Always maintain good hygienic conditions.
regards,
Dr.chawda

i was diagnosed with pruritus ani several years ago, and despite being very conscious to avoid itching 'down there' and applying steriod creams and even jock itch creams (all at the recommendations of my proctologist) the itching sensation has progressively gotten worse! I literally feel like I am going to jump out of my skin if I do not itch my anus and feel like there is something more internally that I'll never 'satisfy' if that makes sense. I really want to get over this itching and scratching business asap and lead a normal life!

Hi, I am a 51 yr. old female and I am obese. I have a red, very itchy rash in my groin area. It has been on going for almost 2 wks. now. I bathe or shower in warm water, not hot. I have tried powers, anti-chafing ointments, and even tried cortisone cream (for the itching). But they are not giving any lasting relief. What might it be? From what I have read online about groin itch, I m thinking I may have female jock itch. What can I get or do to make it go away and get better? Please help!
