Itching On Legs And Back, Unexplained Bruises, Lost Weight. Taking Birth Control

I m a 31 year old female. I have been itching all over for over two weeks mostly on legs, sides, and back. I also had unexplained bruises wrapping my thighs as if I has tumbled down stairs or something extreme. The bruises did not hurt and have started to fade. I have also lost about 20 pounds over the past 8 months and really didn t need to lose any. I have struggled with sleep for years. I teach school, am very active, and eat semi healthy. I do take birth control and b-12 shots.

Thanks for the query,

There is a possibility that you have developed a drug allergy.

Although it is uncommon with birth control pills,

But it can occur.

I would like to know since when you are taking these pills.

A photograph of lesions would have helped me better,

You can use a mild oral steroid lotion like desonide.

Also take an antihistamine tablet

This will give you relief.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
