Itching On Forearms, Bleed While Scratching, Flare Up In Warm Environment

i have intense itching on my outer forearms. i ve had it about a year. when i scratch , i sometimes remove pieces of skin & it bleeds profusely. soetimes the holes just appear very bright pink. it seems to flare up when i am at work, in a very warm environment. also, after a warm shower. if i wait a while after showering to apply lotion, it looks awful.

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

It is most likely an allergy to some particles present, or due to heat (called thermal stimuli) at your working environment, as there are on apparent insect bites. A course of anti-histaminics( such as, cetirizine) will help.

Consult your doctor, who will order for allergy tests, and apprise you of the entire range of particles to which you are allergic to.
