Yeast infection accounts for a good part of itching in the vagina. It particularly may present with whitish or cream white discharges of little or moderate abundance with cottage cheese form. It could also be associated with painful urination and painful intercourse. Yeast infection is favored by use of hormonal contraception
, use of antiseptics for deep vaginal toileting, use of non cotton under wears etc. Yeast infection response effectively to antifungi drugs such as fluconazole
or nystatin which your doctor can prescribed after confirming the diagnosis
Itching can as well be cause by Trichomoniasis
or due to a bacterial vaginosis
or even a drug reaction can cause vagina itching.
I will advise you see your doctor for an evaluation and for a vaginal smear test for microscopy, pH, KOH etc and for the right treatment to be given.
