Itching In Nipple In Right Breast, Pain When Water Hits. Smoker. Should I Meet Doctor?

Hi, Like most women, I dont like to go to the Doctor but I am having severe itchiness in my right breast in the nipple area....and just recently began getting pain i noticed when in the shower when the water hits it is more painful...I am a 52 year old woman, who smokes (smoke free one month).....is this something i should have checked out...

Pain in areolar area of short duration is rarely cancerous,you might be having subareolar abscess.you must get examined and start treatment but without worry.
A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast,it can be used for screening or for diagnostic purposes if required.
