Dear G Kumar Paul, Hi & Welcome. Incomplete data like purpose of using Dytor-5? Commonly used in the treatment of gouty arthritis, Zyloric is generally a safer medication however it can cause allergic reaction like itching, swelling of the lips or eyes, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, stomach upset, etc. Since it works by reducing the production of uric acid in the body, it is unlikely to cause any kidney problems. However Dytor-5 (Toresdemide) can increase the uric acid level in the body by preventing its excretion from the kidneys, so its dose should be reduced or discontinued by your treating doctor. Beside medications you need to take certain precautions to lower the blood uric acid level like: 1. Avoid alcohol, red meat, sea foods like shrimps, beans like raajma , pulses like red lentils, and organ meals like liver, kidney, etc. 2. Drink at least 8 glasses of water or other fluids each day to maintain a good urine output so as to enhance the excretion of uric acid from the kidneys. 3. Do regular exercise, try to reduce your body weight (if obese). Hope the advice given above would be useful in lowering the high uric acid level and hence the arthritis. A feedback is appreciated.
