Is Xray Required For Chronic Sinusitis And Dizzyness?

I have had chronic sinusitis for about two years ago and even had surgery. I more recently have had a sinus infection for 2 weeks now and seem to be getting worse. I am feeling dizzy and especially dizzy when I blow my nose. My vision is okay but at times have trouble focusing, maybe because of the dizzyness. I went to a doctor yesterday and she ordered an xray. Do I need to do anything drastic, like go to the hospital.

Hello

Welcomein H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding sinus infection and dizziness.
Tough your sinus problem is quite old and you had been operated for the same also. Recently you had been advicd forX-Ray.

Here would like to say that recurrence o sinusitis is quite common, and whenever there is sinus infection post nasal drip is quite common and this in turn give rise to throat infection. Now this sore throat causes obstruction of eustachian tube as well as gives direct way to infection to reach the ear thus Labyrnthitis may develop and patirnt feels unsteadyness.

Probably you may be having similar pathology therefore your doctor had advice you for x-ray. Here my suggesstion is that c.t.scan paranasal sinuses gives much better information about sinuses than x-ray.

I hope you had now understand the situation and i will be better to consult your ENT doctor for better management.

Regards.
