Is Voluntary Nystagmus Harmful?

Last night, I woke up in bed and my I had the sensation of my eyes shaking/vibrating which made my vision appear to shake. I laid there for a minute or two waiting for it to stop and it did not until I sat up. This has happened to me one other time recently and resolved itself once I sat up. What is causing this?

Hello,

Nystagmus is a medical condition that is commonly experienced by patients due to undue stress & anxiety. It may also occur due to some eye injury or pathology(disease).

Visit ER, get your eye's checked & also get your anxiety issue treated for this you may have to visit a Counselor /Psychiatrist.

Nystagmus can be treated with contact lenses, eyeglasses, medications and sometimes by surgery. Get it treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
