Is Vertigo Related With Headache And Night Sweats?

Hi my husband is 42 and is suffering headaches, dizziness, night sweats and light flu symptoms and easily become short of breath although is normally very fit . His doctor has done chest xrays - clean prescribed flu meds with antibiotics and still no relieve. They have now drawn 3 viles of blood for testing. The say he has vertigo. I am still concerned, as he works in and around seweage treatment plants. What should I ask the doctors to check for? I do not know what to do?

Hi.
Thanks for your query about your husband.
Vertigo is occurring with headache and night sweats can be related to these two symptoms, particularly the headache.
Read and understood the history of your husband, 42 years is suffering from headache, dizziness, night sweats and light flu like symptoms and gets shortness of breath easily.
Since X-rays of chest are normal, the pneumonia is thus ruled out.
He is already under flu medicines and antibiotics but without the positive outcome.
It is important to know whether this is due to just a weakness that he is feeling like dizziness or the real sens of self-rotation or the surroundings rotating- a true vertigo.
If this is true vertigo, I would advise him the following:
To add on the anti-vertigo medicines like stugeron or so.
MRI of the mastoids and the brain to see if there is any problem with internal ears, particularly the semicircular canals (the balancing apparatus)
Let us wait til then the reports of the blood tests and further treatment to be carried on as per the reports.
I find this answer helpful
