Is Vertigo Related To Mild Atrophy And Microvascular Ischemic Disease?

My husband has had chronic vertigo 24/7 for four years. He was diagnosed 3 years ago by an MRI with Mild atrophy and microvasular ischemic disease. He takes only blood pressure medications. Is there a connection, and what can he do to eliminate the vertigo?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

The vertigo is clearly due to the ischemia and yes it is common and can easily occur. In such cases, addressing the ischemia usually helps to solve the symptom of vertigo and so I would recommend speaking to a neurologist to help treat him.

Best wishes.
