Is Vaginal Bleeding Normal After Taking Levonelle?

Hi I had unprotected sex a week ago and then took levonelle 14 hours after. I have been fine until about 6 days later I started period-like bleeding but I m not due my period for another 2 weeks. I thought it had just come really early as I was told that could happen but I am scared its inplantation bleeding or something. Is it normal to bleed a week after levonelle?

Levonelle (levonorgestrel) can cause bleeding/spotting in the middle of the cycle. It also interferes with the rhythm of your period in general. So if you are having period like bleeding after 6 days; you might not get regular bleeding till the completion of another cycle and it is very unpredictable also.
It is highly unlikely of implantation bleeding. If the bleeding is heavy and prolonged, I suggest you to consult a obstetrician. If you are to be sure, then you can test for pregnancy through any of the urine pregnancy kits available in the market but again pregnancy is highly unlikely given your history.
As far as the use of emergency contraceptive pills, I would always suggest my patients to not opt for it. Instead use barrier methods or use daily contraceptive pills for round the clock protection. Emergency pills will impact the rhythmicity of periods in most of the cases and it's use is also not recommended frequently.
