Is Treating Lymphoma With Rituximab-IV Advisable While Suffering With Parkinson’s Disease?
I am a 73-year-old male with Parkinson s disease and cutaneous B-cell lymphoma. I have had the lymphoma for over 30 years. It is limited to my back and causes no real problems. My oncologist recommends Rituximab IV to treat the lymphoma. He believes there is a 70% probability of success. Given my age and my Parkinson s, is treatment with Rituxumab recommended?

Yes, rituximab is used for treatment of lymphoma. It is effective against lymphoma. It can be used in elderly patients and in patients with Parkinson’s disease. There is no significant interaction between rituximab and anti-Parkinsonian medications.
