Is Tonsillectomy And Adenoidectomy Advisable For A Child With Chronic Cough?

My son 6 is having his tonsils and adenoids out on Friday. He does not have a runny rose, does not have a fever and is full of life BUT does have a cough. (Nil coughing of a night) It has not gone to his chest which is great. He is an Asthmatic, currently on preventative and ventolin (which is normal for winter). Will the surgery go ahead?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Better to go for the procedure after the infection is subsided. You can go for the surgery after two weeks. The anaesthetic complications are also more common at this stage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
