Is Thyroid Associated With Painless Swelling Around The Neck?

I have a painless swelling at the front right of my neck - My very basic anatomy knowledge leads me to believe it could be an enlarged thyroid but only one side - so I need to see my GP or will it just go away? - I can feel it when I swallow but it s not causing any problems.

Hello and thank you for asking.
You are right, the most probable diagnosis of a mass at that region is thyroid nodule.
You need of course to see a physician who will perform a thyroid ultrasound that will confirm the nodule and give further information regarding to it's nature and decide rather further examinations or not.
Hope i have been helpful.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
