I m 39 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Today I had this clear jelly like stuff about the size of a quarter fall out of me onto my leg as I was getting ready to get in the shower. Could this be part of my mucus plug? I ve had discharge throughout my pregnancy, but this isn t like what I ve ever had before.
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic forum.
At 39 weeks of pregnancy your cervix starts preparing for opening up and in this process it becomes soft and gets loosened up.This loosening of cervix causes the mucosal plug blocking the cervical opening to come out. Do not worry. Your pains are likely to start in 4-5 days.

I am 10 weeks pregnant and I was taking a shower cleaning myself and when I wiped a saw a clump of material (it looked like snot) with a stringy looking thing attached to it (looked like a thin minnow tail) it was yellowish in color. I am certain I don t have an STD and since there was no odor and I have no itching. I am pretty sure I don t have a yeast infecting. Is it too early for it to be part of the mucus plug. Was it part of the baby? I have no bleeding . I am freaking out a bit. I am really nervous. Should I call the doctor?
I am 38 yrs old . I had first child in 2007, normal pregnancy & delivery, healthy child. Had miscarriage at 19 weeks, no pain but had spotting on US there was full cervical dilation & membranes were bulging, in 2010. Had 2 D & C's after this miscarriage because of heavy bleeding fron retained products. 3 rd time 2011 April I had miscarriage again at 7 weeks, had spotting, on US no heart beat so had D& C. Chromosome analysis comes as 47XXY. Please advise me I I should consider another pregnancy with this history. Can 3 D & C's effect my uterine lining and impair conception in future. Can this anomaly recur.
Hello. Could you please help me interprete in plain language My HSG Results done yesterday which says:- 1) High Grade Stenosis of the Cervical Canal that needs dilation 2) Uterine cavity shows thumb-printing suggesting a sub mucosal space...
I am 36 weeks pregnant and 2 cm dilated, with no contractions just pressure on my cervix even though my cervix is still quite thick, my doctor said if I can self induce then I can. Could you tell me how I can start my labor quicker so I don't have to be induced
I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks and a D&E at 18 weeks. During the cervical dilation, the laminaria sticks perforated my uterus. This was discovered at the beginning of the procedure the next day and resulted in a hysterotomy to remove the fetus and repair the damage to my uterus. The incision was made through the fundus. I have had 2 previous low transverse c sections and a bicornuate uterus with a successful pregnancy in each side. I really want to try for another baby at some point in the future. But am concerned about uterine rupture. How long should I wait to try for another and what are my risks?
I have recently been diagnosed with Cervical stenosis due to laser surgery I had more than 20 years ago. My Dr. just discovered it despite the fact that I ve been going for regular( 1Yr sometimes 2Yr) paps for all that time. I ve recently been experiencing excruciating lower back pain that incapacitates me for days prior to and during my period. My Dr has recommended a cervical dilation and states that it is nothing to worry about. I m not really feeling all that warm and fuzzy about the advice my Dr. has been providing. I am 48 years old,. I ve had 2 children(both by C-section). Any suggestions as to the kinds of questions I should ask the ObGyn when I finally do get to see one?
