Is This Dosage Of Adderall Safe To Be Given For ADHD?

if a patient responds well to adderall for ADHD at 30 mg TID and has been maintained on that for two years, what is the down side. I have heard of other doctors using even higher doses, but would not do that myself. what higher doses have you heard off...

Hi, thanks for your question.

I'm afriad you have been on a high dosage of adderral. Recommendations for use of adderral are a maximum total dialy dose of 40mg and 60mg for the extended release form. I would suggest you taper the dose and consult your doctor before doing this.

Possible effects of prolonged use of high dosage of adderral include palpitations, diseases of the heart muscle, loss of libido, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
