Is There Interaction Between Paracetamol And Pradaxa?

my mother inlay is on holiday with us and is currently taking pradaxa but is having a bit of pain in her hips which she has taken paracetamol for and it has solved the pain problem. She want to continue taking them but is not sure if that is a good idea when she is taking pradaxa. Is it OK for her to manage the hip pain/strain with paracetamol while on pradaxa.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.

I have reviewed you query and here is my advice. Continue pradexa is good for health but with pradexa, use paracetamol or aspirin with extra care. These drugs may increase bleeding tendency of person so stop it if possible, or if you want to continue then please take it under observation of doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pragnesh Limbachiya
