Is There Chance Of Wrongly Detecting Gonorrhoea?

I recently went to my doctor for STD and STI testing. Initially my results came back negative for all STD's and STI's. Today my doctor calls me in for an appointment and says that the lab decided to do a 2nd test and this one came back positive for gonorrhea. My doctor believe's that the lab may have had a malfunction and decided to redo my tests. He also thinks that because I show no symptoms and my original test was negative that there may have been a mix up. My sexual partner has also been tested and was negative for all STD's as well. Is it possible to get wrong results on gonorrhea tests?

thank you for query.if the lab is accredited or at least follows all the proper rules/guidelines and takes precautions such things cannot happen.also the disease may be in incubation phase and it might have manifested now.so there are few possibilities like this. some may not have symptoms also.It is better to have protected intercourse like using condoms if either of them have multiple partners.it is always better to redo test for diagnosis and treatment in a accredited lab.
