Is There Any Way Apart From Ultrasound To Find Correct Age Of The Fetus?

hi i was wondering can a doctor tell me the amount of weeks i am pregnant by not using an ultrasound and be correct ? I didn t have any sickness in this pregnancy he told me I am about nine weeks pregnant and i conceived some time in June but i think i conceive in MAY can i be wrong i now have to get an ultrasound. Is there another way to find out the exact weeks the baby is ?

Hello,
If your cycles are pretty regular, then you can be sure of your weeks even without an ultrasound once the pregnancy test gets positive. Yet, if you are not so sure the best way is to get a sonogram and confirm your pregnancy as well as the gestational age. Apart form a sonogram, the only other way to know the age of the baby in early pregnancy is through the serum beta-HCG levels and that is a tedious process. Take care.

There are two ways of calculating gestational age,
One is ultrasound based
Second one is -by knowing,first day of last menstruation
Both methods calculate approximate weeks not exact.
