Hi,
Bu no need to panic. Be relaxed . Everything has a solution. See first of all it is very common for a diabetic patient to have
kidney disease. So you should not worry at all if you have been told that you have kidney disease.
Secondly, you must understand that there are various stages of kidney disease. If diagnosed at an early stage we can even stop the damage. You have to know the exact nature of your problem( you did not mention any reports).
Get all your blood tests done like
complete blood count, kidney function tests, urine test, urine for
microalbumin, 3 months average sugar,
lipid profile, and
ultrasound. Make sure that your sugar levels and your blood pressure is under control. Monitor them regularly. Go for a walk. Take a diabetic diet.
Once the test results are available, treatment can be planned accordingly. There are medicines available that can help control kidney damage but they can only be started after investigations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta
