Is There Any Side Effects Of Doxylag 100 Mg During Pregnancy ?

hi docter,i consulted dermatologist today for acne and gave doxylag 100mg for two weeks....iam mother of 5 yr old boy... now iam in ovulation period and i dont know that iam pregnant or not...my last menstrual period is on 13/06/12...so can i start the tablets frm tomorrow onwards...is there any side effects....plz give me a reply

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acne on face which could be due to hormonal changes, stress and excessive sun exposure . Excessive oil production and clogging of sebaceous gland duct are also one of the reasons. Doxylog 100 as prescribed to you is good for acne treatment and it is not harmful to use during pregnancy. I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing benzoyl peroxide and then apply cream containing azelaic acid which is good for acne as well as for hyperpigmentation . Also apply vitamin E oil at night . If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination and start treatment accordingly.
