Is There Any Side Effects For Pantocid DSR?

i am using Pantocid DSR for last two years one capsule everyday because of acidity problem and was keeping very well. Recently somebody told me it is not meant for regular use. So i stopped using it for a few days and observed that my acidity has come back. Please tell me can I use this drug regularly and permanently? I didnt have any tangible side -effect as long I used this drug.

Hi

Pantocid DSR can be taken for few months.Continuous use for years must be avoided as far as possible.

Long term use of the drug may rarely cause kidney dysfunction and electrolyte disturbances like lower blood magnesium levels.

Alternatively you can use the drug and take a drug free break for a few days,so that the side effects are reduced.

Continue with dietary restrictions and always leave a gap of one hour between meals and sleep.Sleeping on left side has also been useful in some patients.
