Is There Any Remedy For The Pain Of Ear Piercing?

My 7 year old daughter is getting her ears pinned back next friday, im very worried she will be in alot of pain after, is it true that it hurts alot? Thanks Lisa

Hi, I am Dr Sonia S V. I am an ENT Surgeon & Head & Neck Specialist.Be calm your operating surgeon will surely give her enough pain killers so that your daughter is comfortable. Do not worry too much as your aniety will be perceived by your daughter and she will also become anxious as a result. A child who is not unduly anxious about the procedure will find the whole experience more pleasant. Be sure to explain to your daughter everything that is to be expected including who will be with her when you will be going home, who her doctor is etc. Before such procedures also have a good discussion with your operating doctor so that you can confidently answer all your daughter's queries.
