Is There Any Difference Between Kreon And Creon?

I have a history of pancreatic cancer and take Creon 12,000 units, 3 capsules with meals. It costs over $1,000 a month.I can get Kreon 10,000units or Kreon 25,000units through a Canadian pharmacy. They both seem to be made by Abbott. The Kreon comes from Turkey.Can anyone tell me if the Kreon is equivalent to Creon?

Hello and thanks for your question. They are similar products. They are both made from pork pancreas and will have similar enzymes to help with digestion. You want to come as close as you can to similar units. For example if you take 3 of the 12,000 unit Creons, that would be 36,000 units. You want to get as close as you can to that number of units with the Kreon. You could take one of the 25,000 plus one of the 10,000 units and you would be close enough.
