Hi Dear
Welcome to the board of health Care magic

Thallasemia is a disease with abnormal forming hemoglobin due to genetic disorders.This Abnormal hemoglobin is not stable and Red Blood Cells get ruptured easily and early. Thus creating a situation that patient is always anemic.
Because of excess rupture of RBCs there is lot of iron circulating in the blood fluid.
But i would like to explain you that there is not much relevance of taking only non vegetarian meals. And this is not going to help much in the disease process.
There is no cure of the disease with the vegetarian diet.

Severe Anemia caused by extra hemolysis is usually managed by often blood transfusion.
Extra Iron produced by excess hemolysis is circulating in body fluid and many times this extra iron may cause some harm to the body tissues.
So for this some chellating agents are used to take out the excess iron from the body.

New Hope for the cure of the disease lies on the newer techniques like ;
*Bone marrow transplant.
*Stem cell therapy.

Hope your query is answered and useful to you.
