Hi, PCOS affects 5-10% of women & is a leading cause of infertility (inability to concieve). There may be an imbalance of female hormones & excess of male hormones. Usually the periods will be irregular & anovulatory. The treatment depends upon the symptoms. In your case, to make cycles ovulatory & to help conception the drug Clomephene citrate will be useful. This drug also lengthens the luteal phase of the menstural cycle thereby improving the chances of conception. Dose is 50mg once daily for starting from 5th day of menstural cycle for 5 days along with HCG injection on the last 2 days. If you dont concieve even after two months with the same dose then the dose can be doubled for 2 to 3 cycles (max 200mg). Good luck.
