Is There Any Creams To Protect The Skin From Damage Due To Swimming?

Doctor I m planning to start swimming classes but i m already having acne and pimples on my face.........Is it okay for me to start swimming and how can i save my skin and hair (waist-length) hair from pool water. Are there any lotions or cream available for that one ??? Please let me know

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Swimming pools contain chlorinated water which can cause acne and dryness of skin.

Since you already have acne, therefore I would advice that you see a dermatologist. Your treating dermatologist might put you on oral doxycycline or azithromycin along with topical anti acne gels like clindamycin for day time application and Benzoyl peroxide for night time application.

Regarding chlorine induced dryness/irritation it is recommended to have a shower after swimming to wash it off from your body and use a moisturizing cream all over your body after shower.
