Hi,

Zoloft is an antidepressant which helps control depression and anxiety. Other than that, it does not change one's personality. If you feel that your boyfriend's personality has significantly changed since he stopped Zoloft and the change is more than just an increase in anxiety and low mood, then in my opinion, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. The reason for this suggestion is that this is unlikely to be related to Zoloft and unlikely to improve if he resumes Zoloft. The alternatives to Zoloft are other antidepressants but they too would require a doctor's prescription. So there is no option other than informing his doctor.

Best wishes.
