Is There A Vitamin D3 Supplement Which Does Not Have Calcium Carbonate In It?

Is there a vitamin D3 supplement available which does not have calcium carbonate in it? I am experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort after taking D 3 (1000iu). I recently had a blood draw and my vitamin d level was 27 , not severely low, but under the 29recommended. My doctor wants me to take 2 tablets daily to raise my level.

Hello,

Generally, most manufacturers make Vitamin D with calcium preparations. Instead of calcium carbonate, you can try manufacturers who make a combination of Vitamin D3, with Calcium citrate and zinc or Vitamin D3 with elemental calcium. Such preparations are well tolerated and cause less gastrointestinal discomfort.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
